This was the last song written and recorded for the record. The album was done, but I felt it was missing one song. During the last day of mixing, I set up two mic in the console room, and recorded it one take. It had to be one take because the song wasn't completely written. I had a basic outline but was unsure of the arrangement, so I just played whatever seemed natural and left it to fate.
lyrics
Where are you tonight? My heartstrings don’t feel tight
And I’m not sure you have the best intent for me
Where are you tonight? I long for you to hold me close
And I don’t want to die or be burned alive
I hate to show that I cannot go on because I’m done
Just wait ‘til morning I’ll be fine
Ignore the warning, warning signs
I’ll be in mourning
I don’t want to die or be burned alive
Where are you tonight? Speak softly and kiss me when you arrive
I fear I’ll have no memory you were here
Where are you tonight? Should I leave on the hallway light
To guide you to me?
A ship lost at sea
Alone and close to shore
I soon will be moored to what I abhor
Just wait ‘til morning I’ll be fine
Ignore the warning, warning signs
I’ll be in mourning
I don’t want to die or be burned alive
